Lesson 1: Backgrounds and Navigations




WALT – Self Manage 

Success Criteria
  • Choose a goal from the poster below
  • Set goal on the padlet
  • Reflect upon this goal and give and example



WALT - set backgrounds and control your sprite

Success Criteria
  • make your sprite move up/down/forward/back
  • create your Level 1 background
  • navigate your sprite through Level 1

Step One
Now jump on the goal setting and reflection Padlet (below) and set your goal for this lesson!

Step Two
After watching Carl's mini lesson, set your own background and navigate your sprite in your project

Step Three
Reflection time! Use the Same Padlet to post your reflection on the same post as the goal you set at the start of the lesson

Lesson 2: Sensors and maybe music or sound effects

Success criteria
·       Share ideas
·       Recognise different points of view
·       Negotiate

Success criteria
  • set up sensors for sides and objects
  • program your sprite to go back to the beginning
  • test it works
Extra for experts:
  • add some music or sound effects to your Scratch project

Step Two

After watching Carl's mini lesson, program your sprite so it bounces back to the beginning if it hits one of your maze walls

Step Three

Lesson 3: Prizes and Monsters

Step One

Step Two
After watching Carl's mini lesson,
think about these questions with your partner.

What will you want to happen when you get a prize?
How many prizes will you want?
How many monsters will you want?
How will you want your monsters to act?

Now have a go at adding some prizes and monsters. If you get stuck, who could you ask?

Reflection time! Add your reflection to match your goal from the start of the lesson.

Lesson 4: Sharing to a Studio


WALT - Think 

Success Criteria 

  • be curious - look at other projects
  • be creative - add some cool stuff to finish off your project
  • be reflective - talk about how you could improve your project
